Recipe ingredients
Just like our lemon salad dressing, we make this Orange Vinaigrette without mustard. There's nothing to interfere with that delicious orange flavor!

Orange Zest: Zest one large orange for fresh, citrus flavor. This is key!
Orange Juice: Use at least half of the orange you zested to squeeze the juice needed for the dressing.
Vinegar: White balsamic vinegar (affiliate link) works fabulously here, with its delicious, fruity flavor. Plus, it won't ruin the color of the orange salad dressing.
If you need a substitute, try distilled white vinegar or white wine vinegar. Or, you could try apple cider vinegar, which is a bit darker but would lend a hint of sweetness.
How to make it
See the card at the end of this post for the full recipe, but here's an overview.

- Add the zest, orange juice, olive oil, vinegar and seasonings to a small bowl or container.
- Whisk or shake to combine.

Recipe tips
- Zest the orange before juicing half of it. It's easier to zest whole oranges than ones that have been cut and squeezed. This is my favorite zester (affiliate link).
- When storing the leftovers in the fridge, the balsamic orange dressing will separate and the oil will solidify on top. Run the jar or container under very warm water, then shake to recombine it. You also could let the vinaigrette sit out at room temperature for 30 minutes or so and then shake or whisk it.
What to serve with it
This easy Orange Vinaigrette brings refreshing flavor to salads, seafood and vegetables. Use it on scallop salad or grilled Romaine lettuce. Try it on marinated carrot salad, cubed butternut squash, steamed asparagus or green beans!

How long does orange vinaigrette last?
Store homemade Orange Vinaigrette in a small mason jar (affiliate link) or sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Don't leave it out for more than two hours at room temperature, because it contains fresh orange juice.
